The Active Management and Governance Dashboard is a sophisticated multiplex display that simplifies the complex relationships being managed. As the defined set, or whole database, is being navigated we have seen from above that the whole dashboard is kept in sync with the browse. Its role in terms of data capture and the interoperability of controls and displays is summarised in Fig. 4.11.

The shaded boxes focus on the graphic and the unshaded boxes refer to inputs and controls of various kinds. Understanding this summary of what has gone before will be helpful when reading the remainder of this chapter. In very large enterprises it may be desirable to add the timeline distribution feature to the browse function of the other categories, i.e. in addition to the TBE , to establish where in the total population of the set the browse is currently located.
